Iptc.Caption | Bambou and Pollen 14 month old bear cubs foraging in the undergrowth while Hvala keeps watch. Female bear Hvala, was captured in Slovenia to be reintroduced in the french pyrenees in may 2006 as part of a governamental wildlife reinforcement program. She gave birth to two female cubs in 2007, Bambou and Pollen. Exceptionally warm winter conditions and absence of snow cover in the pyrenees have provided the bears with the opportunity to regain activity earlier in the season. These photographs were made possible with the help of the technical staff in charge of the reintroduction program. Feb 2008 © Jean-Frederic ITTEL/E.T.O.ONCFS. |
